2020 has been a hard year for everyone as it stopped us from doing our normal daily routines. But this does not mean we have to stop spreading the cycle of generousity that our community has been known for. This coming Yuletide Season, we would like to continue the tradition of spreading good tidings to our community.
There is no doubt, Lloydminster is a city of giving people. We are stronger and more resilient than the four pillars that stood in our provincial border for years that symbolize us.
That is why several businesses in town joined forces for another Christmas Project to help the Lloydminster Social Action Coalition Society, locally known as The Men's Shelter.
The society operates two facilities 24/7, seven days a week in the cold months to serve our community's underprivileged residents.
LSACS's Drop-In Centre located at the 2F of the Anglican Church is a temporary warming centre for men, women and families in the cold months. The facility operates a community kitchen that prepare and provide meals for its clients throughout the day time. With the unwavering dedication of its staff and volunteers, the centre makes sure that food is accessible to those in need.
Aside from this, LSACS's Lloydminster Men's Shelter, a dry shelter provides beddings and meals for all its in-take clients who are seeking temporary dwelling. The 28-bed capacity building is a home to the most vulnerable men in our community and area. Like the Drop-In Centre, the Shelter also provide food, hygiene kits, and other winter essentials to anyone in need.
Your donations of non-perishable food items will help stock up LSACS's community kitchen for both facilities.
"Tuloy Pa Rin Ang Pasko" (Christmas Goes On), Food For The Shelter starts November 2nd and will run until December 22nd. Our drop-off boxes/hampers will be open for your food item donations at the following locations:

All proceeds will be handed over to the Lloydminster Social Action Coalition Society on the 23rd of December.
Furthermore, as a support to the society, our friends and community builders from Lloydminster & District Co-op will also roll out their food bag day at the Lloydminster Co-op Marketplace on December 1st, during its 10% Tuesday. This will be an opportunity for all local members and patrons to purchase a $10 or $20 food bags, which proceeds will be matched by our local Co-op and will be handed to the shelter on the same day.
This year has been very different but let us not take away the hope that the spirit of Christmas brings.
